The Courage Classic tour is based in Copper Mountain. The three-day, 157-mile tour climbs from Leadville to Summit County and back over quiet, back country roads and challenging mountain passes, all with gorgeous views of the Rocky Mountains.

Courage Classic Tour Route
Day 1
Saturday, July 31
Leadville to Copper Mountain over Vail Pass
58 miles. 3,985 ft. elevation gain
The ride starts at Leadville on Highway 24 past Ski Copper and the Continental Divide, then climbs up Battle Mountain and Tennessee Pass (Elevation 10,404 feet). Descend into Minturn and into Vail for the first day's lunch stop.
After lunch, conquer Vail Pass, with an elevation of 10,666 at the summit. Cruise down the other side into Copper Mountain Resort and cross the finish line.
Day 2
Sunday, August 1
Copper Mountain/Frisco/Keystone/Breckenridge/Copper Mountain
54 miles. 2,230 ft. elevation gain
- Family Ride, 35 miles
- Century Ride, 100 miles to Ute Pass
Start the second day of the tour with an easy descent on the bike path from Copper Mountain Resort to Frisco. On this leg of the day's route, you share the route with riders of all ages and abilities.
From Frisco, you have three choices:
- Turn right at Frisco and head to the Breckenridge lunch stop for our 35-mile Family Ride
- Continue to ride around Lake Dillon, uphill to Keystone, then climb up the challenging Swan Mountain Road for a 54-mile ride
- Head straight up Ute Pass to ride the 100-mile Century Ride, or turn around sooner for a shorter ride
All three of the routes stop in Breckenridge for lunch, then take the moderate climb back up the bike path to Copper Mountain Resort for your day two finish.
Day 3
Monday, August 2
Copper Mountain to Leadville over Fremont Pass
45 miles. 3,985 ft. elevation gain
Ride up Freemont Pass (elevation 11,318 feet), and the route's rolling hills. Then either take a short-cut to the Leadville finish line or stay on the base route for the spectacular ride around Turquoise Lake. At the Leadville finish line, a group of Children's patients greet every rider as they end the three-day tour.
